BWE Industries is a private holding company that acquires and manages middle market manufacturing & distribution businesses and related commercial real estate.
Our focus is on acquiring and growing healthy, established businesses that service a specialized niche in their industry. We utilize the capabilities and resources of our existing businesses and stakeholders to develop and expand the newly acquired entity.
Thermal Research and Development Manufacturing
Thermal R&D was acquired in 2012. With a reputation as a quality manufacturer for the aftermarket automotive industry, Thermal specialized in Tube Bending, Welding and contract manufacturing for exhaust brands and distributors. Primarily manufacturing automotive exhaust parts when it was acquired, Thermal has expanded its capabilities and industries served to include the Defense, Industrial, and Powersports Industries.
Thermal R&D Performance
In 2016, Thermal R&D was launched as a new branded line of performance aftermarket automotive products. This expanded the manufacturing business’ offerings to include products designed and developed with the Thermal R&D name. Revitalizing a quality brand name that had been dormant since the early 2000’s, BWE retained the brand’s original design engineer and founder to help make this distribution venture a success. Thermal R&D Performance has expanded its line of products beyond just automotive exhaust, to include a number of high growth product lines in the automotive and powersports industries.
Black Diamond CNC
Black Diamond CNC is a manufacturing business that specializes in technical CNC machined components and assemblies. When acquired in 2018, it was a healthy business with high-end niche products and a loyal customer base. BWE was able to retain the key management personnel and helped bring in operational resources to encourage the business’ continued growth trajectory. Today, Black Diamond services it’s long term customers while having taken on several new clients in new and exciting verticals.
Real Estate
While managing and operating niche manufacturing businesses, BWE has recognized the value in owning the real estate that the businesses occupy. With specialized operations comes unique needs when it comes to building space and layout. This strategy has helped the businesses scale up quickly when growth opportunities arise.
